Our Programs

The ways we serve the pets in our community.

Support the community…
with preventative animal care.

  • Many South Dallas residents struggle to afford necessary medical care for their beloved companions. High veterinary costs often force pet owners to make difficult decisions between seeking proper treatment for their pets or financial strain. This situation can lead to long-term health complications for animals and emotional distress for their owners. Many people in this position resort to surrendering a sick pet to give them their best chance at receiving care.

Daybreak Animal Hospital will participate in events that provide access to free preventative care. Joining local initiatives working to revitalize neighborhoods and bring resources to the community.

Support shelters and owners…
so sick pets never end up in the shelter.

  • Dallas Animal Services (DAS) is a highly reputable animal care organization that has been serving the Dallas community with commitment and compassion for many years. Their team of dedicated veterinarians, technicians, and animal caretakers work tirelessly to provide top-notch care and support for all animals in need. Their facility is equipped to handle a wide range of medical cases and their skilled staff ensures that every animal receives the individualized attention and care they deserve. Unfortunately, DAS is one of the largest dog and cat intake shelters in the country, taking in tens of thousands of pets each year. City budget limits and overwhelming intake numbers stifle the shelter’s ability to save many of the more advanced medical cases that come through their doors. City shelters rely on animal rescues to step in to take on these costly medical cases or risk euthanasia being the animal’s best option.

Daybreak Animal Hospital will support DAS and other DFW city shelters by acting as an alternative solution for surrendering families to provide their animals with medical care free of charge.

Support animal rescues…
so their medical budgets stretch further.

  • The importance of supporting animal rescues in their mission to save and care for vulnerable animals and make North Texas no-kill cannot be overstated. There are not enough homes for all the animals that are born every year. When those animals end up in overpopulated shelters, adoption and animal rescues become their only option for making their way into loving homes. When a rescue takes in a major medical case, they may spend thousands of dollars helping to save just one animal. By providing affordable medical care to these organizations, we hope to make a significant impact and contribute to the betterment of animal welfare in our community.

Daybreak will offer animal rescues low-cost medical services to the animals in their care allowing their limited budgets to stretch further and serve a greater number of animals in need.

Support foster families…
during their hardest goodbye.

  • Despite our best efforts, humane euthanasia is sometimes a part of what we do. At Daybreak, we recognize the profound emotional bond between humans and their animal companions, even if it is a short-term bond through fostering. It is crucial to approach this sensitive moment with empathy and understanding. By fostering a compassionate environment, we acknowledge the pain and grief experienced by the animal's caregivers and provide necessary support and guidance. Additionally, ensuring that the animal is treated with the utmost kindness, comfort, and respect during their final moments reflects our commitment to their welfare. By creating a space where compassion is central, we can offer solace, understanding, and closure to both animals and the people who love them, easing the burden of a heartbreaking decision and facilitating healing and emotional well-being.

Daybreak will offer humane euthanasia in a calming space for both the animal and the foster family.

The need for affordable veterinarian services in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has become increasingly crucial in recent years. The DFW metro area continues to show one of the biggest population increases for a metro area in the nation, with 170,000+ people moving to the area between 2021 and 2022*. The South Dallas community, in particular, has been historically underserved and lacks access to vital services and amenities, and therefore, will be the targeted location for Daybreak’s operations.
